This is the best route to the Hotel Carlton in Ghent:

Coming off the E40 (Brussel – Oostende)

Take Exit 14 (Gent – Sint-Denijs-Westrem):
Now go along the Kortrijksesteenweg (N43) and follow the signs to "Centrum". Follow this road until you come to a big crossroads. Five different streets meet here.
Take the 3rd street on the right. You are still on the Kortrijksesteenweg (now the N414).
After 1.5 km you will drive under a railway bridge. After the traffic lights, take the 2nd street left.
This is the Koningin Astridlaan. The Hotel Carlton is situated on your right.

Coming from the E17 (Antwerpen – Rijsel/Lille)

Take Exit 9 (Gent Centrum):
Keep following the right-hand lane (follow the "Alle Richtingen" signs) until you reach the traffic lights under the bridge. Here you turn left. Stay on the right-hand side!
Follow the direction "Eeklo" at the 2nd traffic lights. The street descends, and you will see a park on your left. Turn left at the following traffic lights.
You are now in the Kortrijksesteenweg. Follow this street for about 800 metres. The street veers left, but keep straight on (follow the tram lines).
You are now in the Koningin Astridlaan and the Hotel Carlton is situated on your right.
